Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
  • The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  • The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, or RTF document file format.
  • Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
  • The text is single-spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
  • The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines.

Author Guidelines

The Journal of Renewable Energy and Sustainable Engineering (JRESE) welcomes research contributions from both national and international authors, subjecting all submissions to a thorough peer review process. Manuscripts are categorized as follows:

  1. Original Research Articles: Manuscripts presenting comprehensive studies with foundational or applied results in renewable energy or sustainable engineering.
  2. Review Articles: Comprehensive and critical analyses of existing literature on specific topics within renewable energy or sustainable engineering. Review articles should provide a balanced summary of current knowledge, identify gaps, and suggest directions for future research. These articles should be thorough, typically not exceeding 20,000 words.
  3. Short Communications: Condensed articles reporting preliminary findings of ongoing research. These should be concise, limited to 5000 words, and adhere to the standard structure of scientific reporting.

Submission Requirements

  • Language: English
  • Originality: Manuscripts submitted must be original works that have not been published or accepted elsewhere.
  • Submission Process: Authors must submit manuscripts through the e-journalPlus/QJES platform.
  • File Requirements: Alongside the manuscript, authors are required to upload the following documents:
  • Cover Letter (Word/PDF)
  • Copyright Form (Word/PDF)
  • Declaration Form (Word/PDF)
  • Title Page (Word/PDF)

Formatting Instructions

  • Length: Manuscripts should not exceed 40 pages, including tables, figures, and appendices.
  • File Format: Manuscripts must be prepared in Microsoft Word 2010 or newer versions.
  • Template: Use the Manuscript Template available in Word/PDF formats.

Document Layout and Style:

  • Page Size: 8.5 x 11 inches (216 x 279 mm).
  • Margins: Left and right margins should be 16.7 mm, the bottom margin 15.5 mm, and the top margin 12.6 mm.
  • Font: Times New Roman.
    • Paper Title: 16 pt, bold, with initial capitalization.
    • Authors' Names: 12 pt, italic, bold.
    • Headlines: 9 pt, bold.
    • Subtitles: 8 pt, italic, bold.
    • Body Text: 8 pt with 11.5 pt line spacing.

Content Structure

  • Abstract: A concise summary of no more than 200 words in lowercase. It should succinctly cover the objective, content, results, and conclusions of the research.
  • Keywords: Provide 3-6 keywords related to the manuscript, in lowercase.
  • Nomenclature: Include a list of symbols, alphabetically ordered, following the abstract.
  • Equations: Should be formatted in Math Type, numbered consecutively, and separated by space from the surrounding text.
  • Figures and Tables:
    • Figures: Referred to in the text (e.g., Fig. 1), with titles below in lowercase.
    • Tables: Titles appear above tables in lowercase (e.g., Table 1).
  • References:

    References should follow the IEEE citation style, where sources are numbered consecutively in the order of their first appearance in the text and enclosed in square brackets (e.g., [1,2]). The reference list should be formatted according to IEEE guidelines. The use of reference management software such as Mendeley is recommended to ensure accuracy and consistency.

Review Process

  • Initial Evaluation: Manuscripts undergo an initial assessment by editorial staff, followed by a similarity check via Turnitin, where similarity must be below 15%, AI content below 5%, and no flagged issues.
  • Peer Review: The manuscript is assigned to two expert reviewers who evaluate it, providing detailed feedback and suggested revisions.
  • Revisions: Authors must address all reviewer comments and submit a detailed response letter outlining changes. Revised manuscripts should be highlighted and labeled as “Revision Version #1.”

Final Submission and Acceptance

Once the revisions are complete and accepted, an acceptance certificate will be issued to the authors.

Copyright Notice

Upon acceptance of a manuscript, the authors agree to transfer the copyright to the Journal of Renewable Energy and Sustainable Engineering (JRESE). This transfer grants the journal the exclusive right to publish, reproduce, distribute, and archive the article in all formats and media.

Authors retain the responsibility for the scientific content, accuracy, and originality of their manuscripts. Any ethical or legal issues arising from the published work remain the responsibility of the authors.

All published articles are made available through the journal’s official website to ensure wide dissemination of knowledge. Authors are encouraged to engage in post-publication discussions and respond to comments or critiques within two months of publication.
